The Unaffordable Care Act

Why do we call it Obamacare instead of the official name, the Affordable Care Act?   Because it would be a lie, false, misleading advertising.  If Obama and Congress were a private business, they could be sued for false advertising.

 

How is Obamacare failing?  Let us count the lies:

 

Obama promised that it would make health care insurance affordable; patients’ premiums are doubling up, not down.

 

Obama promised that we could keep our doctors; since Medicare patients are lumped into the exchanges, doctors are losing money.  Therefore you may not be able to keep him or her, unless perhaps you strap them to their own gurney.

 

Obama promised we could keep our insurance policies; but he didn’t say anything about our jobs.  Meanwhile, 800,000 New Jerseyans, mostly older people, have had their private health insurance policies cancelled.

 

Obama promised that there is no such thing as “death panels” – that the death panels were a crazy conspiracy theory invented by a wild-eyed Sarah Palin.  Yet hundreds of thousands of people over the age of 75 have been told that they will not be eligible for catastrophic illness insurance.  Got cancer of the whatever.  Wow, that’s too bad.  Obama is really, really sorry. Is your will made out?  Is your life insurance policy paid up?

 

Obama promised that ACA would make health insurance fairer and more just.  Oh, it’s not about the poor.  They can already run to the emergency room for the sniffle and the taxpayers will foot the bill.  It’s about all those healthy, young people out there who aren’t sick and don’t need coverage for diabetes, heart disease, or cataracts.  All they need to be covered for is hospitalization and catastrophic illness.

 

Obama, if you didn’t know it, promised that nurses and physicians’ assistants would receive the same pay as doctors.  It’s right in that 2,700 page bill.  The PA’s can treat the minor stuff, say if you get poison ivy.  No sense wasting the doctor’s time on something relatively easy when he has sicker patients to tend to.  So, okay.  But that PA didn’t go to medical school the way your doctor did.  Overall, the cost of physicians’ assistants drives up the cost of a practice.  So do all the office staff members pushing the bureaucratic paper the government demands.

 

Much of that paperwork can only be done by the doctor alone, meaning longer hours for the doctor, hours he or she could be spending on more hospital rounds, or just at home relaxing so that when he has do surgery on your mom’s heart, his head is clear and functioning.

 

That’s why many doctors are getting out of the business.  Professors in medical schools are advising their students to have a back-up profession, just in case the floor collapses beneath them.  They’re working hard, especially during internship, for nothing.  That’s Obama’s justice, another way he intends to redistribute the wealth.  For my money, my doctor is worth every penny he’s paid.

 

Obama didn’t promise it, exactly, but it was assumed that the ACA process would be easy even for the greatest Luddite.  Since when has government bureaucracy ever been free of bugs, complications, and hurdles?  As you might have expected, the Obamacare website is a disaster.  Many people who might want to sign up, can’t.  Many more people don’t want to, and are waiting until the last minute, sometime in mid-December before signing up.  Others have studied the costs and figure the fine is cheaper.

 

So far, it hasn’t occurred to anyone that Obama intended for his Obamacare system to fail.  That he wants a single-payer system.  He wants the government fully in charge of our lives and our health.  Why would he want to do that (besides the fact that he’s a power-hungry, Communist dictocrat)?

 

First of all, money.  In fact, it’s mostly about money.  Because we foolishly re-elected him and voted in a Democrat Congress that passed the bill, before anyone read it (Would you buy a house or a car before reading the contract?  That would be pretty stupid, wouldn’t it?  Only a fool would sign their name to something they hadn’t read.)? 

 

Medicare/Medicaid is the second largest budget item on the non-existent U.S. budget – $776.4 billion.  But M/M is already in the red to the tune of $87 trillion.  Prescription drug liability is another $22 trillion.  The total U.S. unfunded liability total (that means we don’t have the money) is $1.1 million per taxpayer, according to the U.S. Debt clock.  The average citizen only has about $333,000 in total assets.  Basically, that’s their house and perhaps whatever savings they might haven’t already spent.  The average American family has about $6,468 in savings, and $752,262 in debt (including a mortgage).  The personal debt per citizen – mortgage, student loan, credit card – is $50,648.

 

There are 11.2 million potential full-time workers unemployed.  The official number of unemployed – including part-time workers – is 21.4 million.  That’s out of a work force of 143.5 million.  As businesses are forced to reckon with the costs of Obamacare, they’re either terminating more employees or putting them on part-time status, with no benefits. 

 

Obama promises that when Obamacare finally kicks in, we’ll see that there’s nothing to worry about.  That, of course, is another lie.  The only reason for ceasing to worry about will be because there’s nothing we can do about it, especially if Democrats win another mandate in the next election.  Republicans are hoping Obamacare will spell their doom.  Some Democrats are getting worried and even the propaganda Media is taking Obama to task.

 

But that would just be more propaganda.  By the time Obamacare fully kicks in, Obama will be long gone.  Meanwhile, the Democrat Party will be flush with thank-you donations from all those who will benefit from Obamacare – unions, government employees, illegal aliens, welfare recipients, pharmaceutical companies and hospitals who made the deal.

 

Is there something more sinister behind Obamacare?  If you cut off the medical care for everyone at the age limit of 75 – deny care, remove their doctors, bar them from hospitals, withhold their medications and even food – what do you suppose is going to happen to them?  Why, they would die?  They’d be dead, but that would wipe out most of the Social Security and Medicare debt.

 

We could catch up financially.  That’s 24.6 million oldsters with which the Eternal Childhood Generation would not be burdened.  As for the 41.4 million between 65 and 74, if the age of eligibility for Social Security were raised to 72, that would be another 9 years’ worth of productivity.  With any luck (for the federal government), this group would drop dead from exhaustion.

 

The trouble is, companies are shuffling off their oldest workers as soon as they can.  My former company shed many workers at the age of 55, promising them an attractive early retirement package.  But it was only for a certain group.  Fifty-fives after that were out of luck and were part of the general lay-off.  The 55s are in a precarious position.  If companies are shedding 55s, how are the 55s going to survive until retirement age – currently, age 66 at this point?  I worry.

 

This, by no coincidence, is that age group (55-65) that suffers the most medical problems and costs companies money.  With no insurance, if you’re hospitalized or suffer a catastrophic illness, you can lose your job and your house, even if you own it.  Check off another bullet-point on Obama’s agenda:  high-density, public housing.  Communists don’t believe in private-property ownership; they think it’s very selfish.

 

You could go for one of those reverse mortgages.  The bills would be paid and you could remain in your house.  But once you and your spouse die, there will be nothing for your heirs.  The proceeds of the sale of the house go to the lender, not your children.  That’s what they do in China.  You can buy and sell condo or apartment units while you live, but you cannot leave the property (if you could call it an area of space property) to your child.

 

Thanks to the Zero Population Growth of the 1970s, the Pill, and co-habitation, there aren’t enough young people to support the older generation.  Adult children are clinging to childhood, or at least, adolescence.  They’re marrying later (if at all), having fewer children or raising them in singlehood (and poverty), and drinking and drugging themselves silly.  Church attendance?  Don’t make me laugh.  God is like Christmas – a creation to control children and turn them into obedient consumers.  The Bible’s a fairy tale, a myth.  The asteroid crater in Lagenfeld, Austria?  Just a coincidence.  If there is a God, He doesn’t do things like that.  What sort of God rains fire and death down on two cities just because its denizens are homosexuals?  What a mean thing to do.  (No meaner than the bulls who were trying to break down Lot’s door in order to attack the visiting angels who had come to tell Lot that trouble was coming and to get out of Dodge.)

 

Older people are dangerous to Obama’s Communist agenda.  They remember a better America.  They remember being taught the correct history of America and how it was a great country.  They prospered without the help of government.  They believed in God and went to church.  They raised families.  They served their country in times of war.  They served their communities in times of peace.  They were honorable and trustworthy.  They worked hard at their jobs and saved their money for rainy days.  Some of them remember the Great Depression.  The eldest remember what it was like not to having new clothes to wear and little food to eat.  They don’t take anything for granted.

 

They’re dying away, the Greatest Generation, and for Obama, the sooner the better.  Their children are getting older.  Some of them, though, not many to be sure, listened to their parents’ warnings while their schoolmates and siblings were drinking the Kool-Aid and smoking the bongs.  They’re a thorn in Obama’s side.  They’re even a thorn in the side of the GOP.  They’re the Tea Party.

 

Obama would be beside himself if he thought anyone suspected him of engaging in a passive pogrom of eliminating the oldest segments of the population.  Abortion and birth control are working to reduce the youngest segments but reducing the oldest citizens takes great care and wily management less the population rise up against them.  These things must be done delicately, as the Wicked Witch of the West said in The Wizard of Oz.

 

If you think Obama has our best interests at heart, you should live so long to find out the truth.
