Purging the “Enemy” from U.S. Military Training Manuals

In 2013, Obama ordered all references to Islam to be purged from military training manuals.

Last night, Glenn Beck hosted a former Pentagon official who helped write the manuals.  When the man discovered the words that were censored out of the manual, he complained, was fired, and went on to write his own book.  Glenn, too, is writing a book about Obama’s politically correct towards the enemy.  (Note:  I would tell you the name of the author and his book, but I couldn’t find it afterwards on Glenn’s websites or Facebook page).

Glenn displayed on a monitor a list of the most-purged words taken out of the military manual.  Towards the bottom of the list, a curious word appeared:  “Enemy.”

If people who are trying to kill you are nothing else, they are certainly The Enemy.  Considering Obama’s treatment of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, we know who he considers an “enemy.”

Yet Obama had the nerve to send Marxist henchperson David Axelrod out to tell the press that his “feelings were hurt” that people thought Obama considered Israel ‘the enemy.’  Axelrod, ‘the next best thing to a Jewish person’ in Obama’s entourage, declared his own feelings were hurt that the public considered him anti-Semitic.

Obama later came out to announce that he has always been a friend of Israel.  Even when he brusquely left Netanyahu sitting alone while he went to have dinner with Michelle.  Even when he accused Israel of causing the problems in the Middle East.  Even when he criticized Netanyahu’s Conservative stance promising that he would never let Israel down.  Even now, as he’s eagerly awaiting the chance to sign that nuclear deal with Iran which will unquestionably lead to Israel’s destruction.

With Obama, it’s hard to tell the enemies from the allies.  They seem to occupant distinctly different places in Obama’s brain from the brains of other U.S. presidents.  Anyone would think he hates America by the way he behaves.  He would argue that he doesn’t hate America.

He doesn’t hate America; he hates freedom.  Specifically, individual freedom, and any enemy to that freedom is a friend not a foe.

To fight the enemy, we must first know the enemy.  That’s classic warfare going all the way back to Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War”  (“All warfare is based on deception.”):  “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.  If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained, you will also suffer a defeat.  If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.  If you know the enemy and know yourself, your victory will not stand in doubt.”

Sun Tzu also wrote, “In war, let your object be victory, not lengthy campaigns.”  Domestic enemies, using our legislative process against us, used this stratagem in Vietnam and in Iraq.  In Iraq, we were actually rushed into declaring victory too quickly, before the country was stable enough to govern itself.

“An army is exposed to six several (sic) calamities, not arising from natural causes, but from faults for which the general is responsible.  These are:

  1. Flight;
  2. Insubordination;
  3. Collapse;
  4. Ruin;
  5. Disorganization;
  6. Rout

“When the common soldiers are too strong and their officers too weak, the result is insubordination.  When the officers are too strong and the common soldiers too weak, the result is collapse.

“When the general is weak and without authority; when his orders not clear and distinct; when there are no fixed duties assigned to officers and men, and the ranks are formed in a slovenly, haphazard manner, the result is utter disorganization.

“When a general, unable to estimate the enemy’s strength, allows an inferior force to engage a larger one, or hurls a weak detachment against a powerful one, and neglects to place picked soldiers in the front rank, the result must be rout.”

In the last chapter of “The Art of War”, Sun Tzu writes about the use of spies (of which there are five kinds).  Sun Tzu writes that the only way a good leader can gain foreknowledge of the enemy’s activities is through the use of men.

An enemy’s stratagem in achieving victory is to disrupt the opponent’s civilian population.  The Islamists achieved this goal to great success on 9/11.  Much like the shell-shocked soldier or the animal paralyzed by the approach of a snake, America is frozen in place.

We cannot flee the enemy because it is right here amongst us.  We cannot fight it because we are hampered by domestic enemies allied with the foreign opponent, using our own laws against us, especially our civil rights laws, to paralyze us into inaction.

The human brain works something like this in regard to the fight or flight reaction.  The basal ganglia is sort of the “command central.”  There are two chemicals it dispatches to signal “fight” or “flight”:  glutamate (for fight, or excitation) and flight (dopamine, or modulation).

Experimental studies show that the basal ganglia exert an inhibitory influence on a number of motor systems, and that a release of this inhibition permits a motor system to become active. The “behavior switching” that takes place within the basal ganglia is influenced by signals from many parts of the brain, including the prefrontal cortex, which plays a key role in executive functions.

The importance of these subcortical nuclei for normal brain function and behavior is emphasized by the numerous and diverse neurological conditions associated with basal ganglia dysfunction, which include: disorders of behavior control such as Tourette syndrome, hemiballismus, and obsessive–compulsive disorder; dystonia; psychostimulant addiction; and movement disorders, the most notable of which are Parkinson’s disease, which involves degeneration of the dopamine-producing cells in the substantia nigra pars compacta, and Huntington’s disease, which primarily involves damage to the striatum.

In the neurological pathways, the cortex stimulates and the striatum inhibits.  When both chemicals are released at the same time, a paralysis can result.  Sufferers of Tourette’s syndrome (tics) as well as shell-shock are all too familiar with this reaction to stress.

America is in a similar situation.  We are being threatened.  Our instinct is to fight, but we are being inhibited from doing so by executive decision.  The “executive,” via fiat and media propaganda, is applying a heavy dose of dopamine.  By the way, drugs (including marijuana) are implicated in impairing the basal ganglia area of the brain.

Tourette’s Syndrome sufferers (those who suffer the milder form of this physiological/psychological problem) can tell you how difficult it is to inhibit a tic.  A psychiatrist can offer an entire menu of sedative drugs, rendering the patient practically unconscious and unable to function.  Biofeedback, which involves anticipating the tic – a tic is preceded by a premonitory “urge” (usually occurring in a time of stress) or surge of electricity, can work.  However, the patient cannot always anticipate every wave and could spend an entire day “paralyzed” trying to anticipate the next surge and prevent the occurrence of the tic by holding their head in a vice or trying to direct the surge to another, less prominent area of the body.

Not very practical.

America’s national security system is literally holding the country in a headlock trying to physically prevent the next attack.  Meanwhile, Americans are naturally rebelling against this restraint.  The restraint itself causes more stress in a Tourette’s patient.  The restraint is as maddening as the reaction.

Only when you get to the core of the problem (the basal ganglia is located at the base of the cerebrum, or “forebrain”.  It’s the part of the brain that was formed first in evolution and involves basic instincts for movement, like fight or flight.)

The public often blames the Tourette’s patient for their condition.  Even doctors and psychiatrists insist that the problem is all in the patients’ heads, and have not, so far, made much account of –socially-induced stress.

In the same way, Liberals and Progressives have scrupled not to blame America for her current security situation.  It’s all our ‘own fault’ for supporting Israel and killing ‘innocent’ Muslims.  We will never be safe until we can establish the factual truth about Radical Islam – and frankly, Islam in general – their motives and their ultimate goal.

Americans generally know too little about Islam and Muslims, and our Media is certainly not forthcoming with that knowledge.  Radical Muslims themselves have outlawed any criticism of the Prophet Mohammed, the Qu’ran (of which there are actually two; one for the pacifists, and the other for the hawks), and all associated literature (i.e., the Hadith and the Sura).

Take the word “takfir”, for instance, which was on Glenn Beck’s list.  Takfir is the Muslim version of Roman Catholic “ex-communion;” a ritual in which an apostate is termed a non-believer, and subject to the Muslim death penalty.  The word for the Muslim apostate, as well as believers of other religions, is “kafir.”

Obama ordered the Pentagon to purge that word from the military training manuals.  Why?  Because that would make Muslim clerics, and not just suicide-bombing fanatics, the “enemy”.  The word appears in their holy books; it’s not just some misinterpretation of Islam.

Censorship, purging military training manuals of choice descriptions of the enemy, even forbidding the use of the word “enemy” will not change the circumstances in which we find ourselves, any more than the sufferer of a tic can prevent that surge of glutamate from surging through the carotid artery and into the neck and facial muscles.  Strangling ourselves will not relieve the stress or the threat.  This is an external, not an internal, problem.

But we do have an internal, or domestic, problem.  Our “general”, our commander-in-chief, our “executive” is not a weak commander; he is a traitorous commander.  He is the enemy’s right hand.  Even his worse critics hesitate to make such an accusation.  They would say there is no tangible proof with which to charge him with treason and they could be open to lawsuits, to say nothing of putting their careers in jeopardy by making such accusations.

It’s only those of us with nothing to lose; those of us who are already out of work thanks to this Administration’s anti-Capitalist policies who are free enough to make such claims.  The newspapers and media broadcasts are filled with all the proof we need.  His own executive orders stand as proof of his guilt (and those who work with him, like David Axelrod); his complicity in this religious war carried on through subterfuge and terrorism, guerrilla warfare rather than an outright battle between armed forces.

We know the enemy – though most Americans whose heads are either buried in the sand or are paralyzed in a national security headlock do not or don’t want to.  You’ll find him at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.  Or on a golf course in Hawaii.

The sooner we “purge” him and his policies – legally – the better off we’ll be.
